Lady Gaga’s performance at the opening of the Olympic Games in Paris has sparked a scandal in the fashion world. The singer and her costume designers have been accused of plagiarism.
During her performance, Gaga sang “Mon truc en plumes” by French artist Zizi Jeanmaire, essentially replicating Jeanmaire’s signature act with pink fans. This act of copying did not go unnoticed.

Saint Laurent creative director Anthony Vaccarello responded to Gaga’s performance by posting on social media, where he condemned the situation. In his post, he tagged both the singer and the art director of the opening ceremony, Thomas Jolly.
Despite the initial uproar, the scandal did not escalate. Dior, a generous sponsor of the Games, managed to avoid discredit by having the post removed soon after it was published.
