This summer, Hailey Good is starting work as a nurse in the same NICU she was born in. She weighed 2 pounds when she was born there.
She faced many problems due to her low birth weight. She treated there and through the treatment, she recovered and returned to normal life.
She told people how hard the nurses worked and took care of her while she hospitalized. Hailey Good, 22, said, “I grew up knowing how the nurses saved my life. I was told that they tirelessly worked and advocated for me, even though they weren’t even sure if I was going to survive.”
The outlet also reported that she graduated with a nursing degree on May 4. She also said, “Being able to be that hope and light and just walk through the hardest part of their life with them is just very special.”
After her birth, she underwent heart surgery in the NICU at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She was a fellow at NICU at another hospital (Ohio State University Medical Center).
The nurses provided a lot of comfort to her parents even during this remote condition and she said, “A lot of the nurses really tried to wrap my parents with just comfort and love and just caring for me to their best of their ability because they didn’t know what was going to happen.”
She has always heard the events in her life so inaccessible and decided from the beginning that she will become a nurse.
Because of this she completed her nursing degree and will join the NICU at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus as a nurse on July 7.
