Elon Musk reportedly spent millions on surveillance, suspecting Amber Heard of cheating on him.
Six years ago, Amber Heard dated Elon Musk, founder of Tesla. Musk, now 53, suspected the actress of having an affair with Australian football player Mitch Gallaghan, so he hired private investigators to follow her. This surveillance cost about $80,000.
In 2017, while Heard was filming Aquaman in the U.S., rumors spread that Gallaghan was spending nights at her house and leaving early in the morning. Media reports compared him to “a cat that swallowed a canary.”
SpaceX, Musk’s company, passed this information to the press. Musk later clarified that someone close to him sent the message without his knowledge.
The Daily Mail reported that private detectives used advanced tech like drones and night vision cameras to confirm Heard’s infidelity. The surveillance cost around 100,000 Australian dollars.
Musk and Heard eventually broke up. Musk described this relationship as one of the biggest tragedies of his life.

Although Heard accused him of domestic violence, no evidence supported these claims. She now raises her daughter Una Paige, born via surrogate.
