A New German City Will Named After Taylor Swift — Gelsenkirchen

Taylor Swift concert is going to Germany in July. The city is preparing in many ways for that event. The town of Gelsenkirchen was renamed “Swiftkirchen” after the Grammy winner to honor her. This name will given temporarily due to the event.

Taylor Swift’s concert in Germany will be on July 17, 18, 19. The singer’s concert will held at Veltins-Arena stadium, Gelsenkirchen, Germany.

Due to this event in the city of Gelsenkirchen, they are taking various measures. Accordingly, a student raised the issue of changing the city’s name, and the mayor accepted it for a while. German media website Spiegel reported the name change.

Mayor Karin Welge responded with a letter of thanks and wrote: “It’s a great idea to temporarily rename Gelsenkirchen ‘Swiftkirchen’.” A sign with the new name has installed in the center of the city.

Swift will perform three concerts in a row at a 70,000-seat stadium, with many visitors coming from other areas.
